August Long Weekend Can be Dangerous
Stay Safe During the Civic Holiday!
If you live in a place with heavy winters like we do in Ottawa, you would probably expect that most car accidents happen in the snowy icy months. However, both statistics and our own experience tells us that August is the most brutal month of the year for serious collisions.
- Is it speed?
- Is it more people on the road?
- Are people likely to drink or consume cannabis at this time of year?
The reasons are various but the results are clear. August is dangerous on the roads. Long weekends and Fridays are the worst.
Friends, please take steps to protect yourself and your loved ones. Please drive safely, watch for cyclists and pedestrians and take transit if you are partying.
